In the past year, I had taken second place in the Wii pong games, and I was determined to get first this year. There were a few new employees that had been playing over the last several years, so they seemed like quite a threat. I knew that it was going to be a lot of fun.”

“The library isn’t just for reading and studying anymore. Case in point: The Dunham Public Library is preparing for its first Wii Tournament on Saturday. The event, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the library’s community room, welcomes students from ages 8 to 15 to come out and show off their videogame skills. Participating students will compete against each other in the “Mario Kart” game for a chance to win rental passes for movies in the library.”

The Interactive Game Experience Exhibit will make a stop at the CoolKidz Expo this weekend.

The exhibit and daily tournaments are free to Expo attendees. There will be family-friendly games from Nintendo Wii, Sony PS3, and Microsoft XBOX 360. All games will be rated EC (early childhood), E (everyone), and family-friendly T (teen).

And players can sign up onsite for one of the daily Wii bowling tournaments. The tournament begins at 2:45 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
